CAR-T Therapy DLBCL

Bataar's Journey: From Relapsed Lymphoma to Remission

Condition: 52-year-old man with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) that relapsed after 2 lines of chemotherapy. Local doctors had limited options remaining.

Why UFH: His Mongolian oncologist referred him to UFH Beijing for CAR-T evaluation. The UFH team confirmed eligibility within 48 hours and began the process.

Treatment Experience: "The UFH team was incredible. My Mongolian coordinator explained everything in our language. The CAR-T infusion was quick, and the monitoring was thorough. I had mild fever and fatigue but recovered well."

Outcome: At 3-month scan: complete remission. Now 18 months later, still cancer-free. Back to work as a teacher in Ulaanbaatar.

Return to Mongolia: "My local doctor receives regular updates from UFH. I get bloodwork done here, and UFH reviews the results. It's collaborative care that saved my life."

Dorj's Return to Normal Life After da Vinci Prostatectomy

Condition: 61-year-old with localized prostate cancer, PSA 8.5. Wanted to preserve sexual function and continence if possible.

Why Robotic: In Mongolia, open prostatectomy was offered. UFH's robotic surgery promised nerve-sparing technique with better functional outcomes.

Surgery & Recovery: "The surgery took 3 hours. I had 5 tiny incisions. Pain was minimal—just needed regular painkillers for 3 days. I went home on day 2. Catheter removed after 7 days."

Functional Outcome: Continent within 6 weeks. Sexual function gradually returned over 6 months with support from UFH's guidance.

Pathology: Cancer fully removed with negative margins. PSA now undetectable. No evidence of recurrence at 2 years.

Message: "I'm back to hiking, playing with my grandson, and living fully. Robotic surgery gave me my life back with dignity."

Family's Decision: "We heard about CAR-T through our doctor in Ulaanbaatar. UFH gave us hope when we had none. The Mongolia coordinator helped with everything—visas, housing, school for Ariunaa's brother."

Treatment Journey: Mother stayed with Ariunaa throughout. "The hardest part was the fever and confusion in week 1. But the UFH pediatric team was with us 24/7. They even had Mongolian books for Ariunaa."

Outcome: Day 28 bone marrow: no leukemia cells detected. 6-month scan: still in complete remission. Now 1 year later: thriving, back in school, playing with friends.

Family's Words: "Ariunaa calls it her 'superhero cells.' CAR-T gave our daughter a future. We are forever grateful to UFH and our local doctors who worked together."
